Dr. Schauer was really great, he diagnoses the problem right in a timely manner and refers you to the right specialist(Orthodotnist). I had terrible pain, went to see one dentist and he dismissed saying its a simple issue and would go away on its own but pain never subsided. Then we went to Dr. Schauer, he immediatley referred me to the Orthodontist for the root canal work to treat the infection. After the treatment pain was gone in a few days. Dr. Schauer cares for the patient and explains all treatment options and charges etc. very clearly. I would refer anyone to his office without any hesitation.

Dr. Schauer is simply AWESOME! He has an excellent touch, it seems almost effortless. I can not seem to stop telling everyone that I know about him. He knew exactally what I wanted and could explain it to me like I had never heard before. I strongly recommend that you see him before your next visit to your dentist!!!!
About Hygienist: Tim is one of the best that I have been to in some time, she is excellent!!!!

I went to Dr. Schauer for 4 years before moving, and always had a generally pleasant experience. I mainly went for regular dental check-ups/cleanings, but did have a couple cavities filled. The receptionist always remembered us and asked how we had been doing, and the hygienists were thorough and friendly. Actually, both the hygienists and Dr. Schauer were gentle in their dental work. I had a couple cavities filled and do not remember feeling any unusual pain, just simple, uneventful cavity fillings (I must mention that going to the dentist is generally not a anxiety-provoking experience for me, though). The only drawback was that on rare occasions the wait to get back to be seen was sometimes longer than expected, but that was the exception and not the rule. I would definitely recommend Dr. Shauer's office if you live in the NW Austin area.

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Schauer for about 7 years on the recommendation of a coworker who had been going for a long time. I am not so good with needles, and he and his staff are extremely gentle. They even give headphones so you don't have to listen to the drill. We are moving out of the neighborhood but we're NOT changing dentists. Great hygienists, great billing folks too.

I've been a patient of Dr. Schauer for over 20 years now and have referred several friends to him - with absolute confidence that they will like him and his staff as much as I have and do. He once extracted a tooth so painlessly that I was totally unaware that he had even begun. He delivers novocaine injections so skillfully that I feel no pain most of the time and minimal, short-term pain the remainder. He pays attention to my concerns and follows-up consistently. His staff take care of all insurance matters with professionalism and speed. He supports the community through donations to family violence and child abuse programs.

Dr. Schauer and his staff are so friendly and really make you feel at ease when visiting. They always want to make sure you're comfortable and explain the procedures as they're working on you. I never feel anxious because they treat me so well during every visit.
Dr. Schauer is very knowledgeable in his practice and has thoroughy informed me about a cosmetic procedure I'm interested in. Although I've only seen him for my regular check-ups, I'm seriously considering him to do cosmetic dental work on me. He has shown me before and after photos and from those along with his and his staff's expertise and friendliness, I highly recommend him!
