Dr. Avenshine will have to answer to "his maker" for the blatant scam he has managed to pull on so many people in non-TMJ related pain in all of his years of practice. He knew probably 90% of the patients coming to his office had another cause if their pain that wasn't even close to resembling TMJ. But low and behold, he sure convinced everyone that they had it and meanwhile performed unnecessary "treatment" which consisted of nothing more than a mouth piece, while the patient continued to suffer from another diagnosis that any doctor could have seen. Diabolical and gross negligence. No moral compass. Needs to be sued out of practice!

About Front Desk: Fake, overly professional -- almost robotic in their mannerisms. You can tell they were trained on how to act. Didn't seem compassionate or caring.

This Doctor is not worth the money. After my first evaluation, he said I did not need surgery. After eight months and $5,000 in treatment at the last evaluation he handed me a card to go to a consult with a surgeon...He should have known at the first appointment if my problem required surgery or not. He takes advantage of people's TMJ pain, you are desperate for some relief of this unrelenting pain. Any other dentist can make a decent splint/ mouthguard. I think he is using all those X-Rays and "so called" evaluations for his own benefit (studies etc...) and is charging the patient for this. I do not recommend you spent this amount of money in his treatment, it doesn't work for persons that have a bad case of TMJ. This doctor should have known from the first appointment and not take the $5000 from me convincing me that I would improve. I did not.

Dr Auvenshine was very professional and very helpful. His expertise and care made me feel confident in his conservative treatments. The office was quiet and very comfortable. The appliance which he made for my TMJ problem, has helped relieve the night grinding and has been helpful when the nerve inflammation in my mouth is causing me pain. He is also very personable and is willing to answer any questions that you might have. I would definitely recommend this dentist to someone who needs special care beyond regular dentistry. I used my medical insurance, since It was a medical problem with a damaged nerve from a root canal (caused from another dentist). My medical insurance only paid about 25% of the bill. I might have had better luck with dental insurance, which I did not have.

About Hygienist: The staff was exceptional. I can tell that they have all been trained in patient care and courtesy. The staff is complimentary and knows how to communicate, as well as efficient in their job duties.

Before I went to MedCenter TMJ for an appointment with Dr. Ron Auvenshine, I researched him and his practice. I read dozens of reviews regarding Dr. Auvenshine and only found one that had anything negative to say. Regardless, I decided to continue with my appointment and I am so glad that I did. Dr. Auvenshine was attentive and caring. He went above and beyond to explain all aspects of my needed treatment and included me in the conversation. I was able to ask questions and get answers that were understandable and helpful. I was also impressed by the facilities, the technology and the staff. The facilities are state-of-the-art as is the technology and the staff was friendly and focused on me. And when my appointment was complete, I left Dr. Auvenshines office feeling incredibly confident about my treatment, the price, the ability of Dr. Auvenshine and his staff to meet my needs as a patient. I would urge anyone to research dentists to learn as much as possible before the appointment. However, I warn that had I listened to the one negative review I found, I would have missed the opportunity to meet Dr. Auvenshine and his staff and the opportunity to correct what has been causing me pain for years.

I am so very impressed with Dr. Auvenshine and his staff. By my second visit, everyone of the office staff knew me by my name. I have never experienced a doctor's office like it. Dr. Auvenshine is extremely knowledgeable about the field of TMJ disorders. I like the fact that he uses conservative treatment first instead of automatically recommending surgery. I would highly recommend this office to anyone.

Dr. Auvenshine is a dentist that specializes in TMJ. He is amazing. He truly knows about TMJ and its dysfunctions. He was the only dentist (out of at least 8) that was able to manage my TMJ and bring the pain down to a tolerable level. I would highly recommend him to anyone suffering from TMJ. He is well worth every penny, and worth the 5 hour drive (10 hour round trip) that I make for each appointment. His staff is exceptional and the office is very calming and tranquil.
