One of the worst dental places i have ever been too...its was apparent that all the assitants to the dentist were interns - i heard from one of the interns that nobody stays there for too long as most of the customer do not come back again as the dentist is goofy and work ethics are not good. and especially beware of the administrative (Gwen)- they tell you something is covered without checking with the insurance and then make you shell out the money or threaten you...stay away from this riphole

I've been a patient of Dr. Boyd and Dr. Carpenter for 5 yrs. I had been extremely happy with their practice though they occasionally they seem to want to do unecessary procedures to jack up the bill. 2 years ago I was told I needed a mouth guard for teeth grinding even though I had a sleep study that showed I don't grind my teeth. And now, my wife, who recently switched to Dr. Boyd, who 6 months ago was told by her old dentist she had no cavities or any problems, has now been told by Dr. Boyd she had 6 cavities (SIX!!) and she requires 2 of her old filling to be replaced AND she needs a crown. WHAA? How can she go from zero dental issues for the past 10 years to requiring a total of 8 fillings within 6 months?
The other issue is a minor annoyance. My wife is a doctor and kept her maiden name because all her medical diplomas are in her maiden name. However, my wife is under my dental plan, but on the plan she is listed under her maiden name. Well, for some reason the office administrators INSIST on calling my wife by my last name saying that they can't put her in their system under her last name because of my insurance. That's ridiculous.
Overall, she does excellent work, but it seems pricey and sometimes uncessary.

Been a patient since 1997.
Very satisfied.
Out of my neighborhood, but still travel to her location for the level of service and confidence.

Dr. Boyd is awesome! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a quality dentist.
