Did crown. Did not give price ahead of time. Would not give me cost until they saw what insurance paid. One crown $1200.00 . Beware of office manager here.

When my insurance changed I had to change from my regular dentist and go to Dr. Edwards. He seemed a fussy but harmless dentist and took care of myself, my husband and all four children. We had difficulty because he would start things and not finish them. He would not take care of wisdom teeth. He did several crowns and the workman ship was shoddy, the crowns cracked or chipped very quickly and we were told not to worry about it, that was normal. I have had crowns in the past that are still not chipped or cracked. When I needed something to be repaired he was usually put out by it. He started a root canal on my daughter and then told her that he couldn't finish it and she would have to find someone else to do it and he put a temporary cap on the tooth. Now that I am no longer concerned about insurance I am back to my regular dentist and he has had to fix or replace most of the crowns in my mouth and he finished the mess that Dr. Gordon made of my daughters root canal. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. He wasn't too bad when he had the old place but now it is just about money. He patched a filling and then put a crown over a cracked tooth with the filling still in there. I can't believe how bad he is.

About Hygienist: The old one wasn't bad. I don't know about the current one.

I went to Dr Gordon to have a Wisdom Tooth extracted in 2007, I had to ask for numbing medicine 3 different times, and it took almost 2 hours to extract the tooth, or so I believed. Then in January of 2010 I started getting these sharp headaches and severe pain in my jaw and ear. My mouth was swollen and I could barely swallow. I started looking in my mouth and saw something cutting through the side of my gumline. I went in to see Dr Gordon, and low and behold, an Hour later and he showed me a Piece of tooth that had been left inside my mouth for three years, it was the size of a kidney bean, I could not believe this was just left in there. I paid almost $400 dollars to have my Tooth removed and I am assuming all that happened was it was broken off to look as if it had been removed. I still carry the piece of tooth around, in case anyone is curious about Dr Gordon, or asks me about a dentist..... I avidly let them know whom I DO NOT RECOMMEND. He has NO Bed Side Manner whatsoever. Very un professional.

Poor Hygienist 0 stars. Front desk & Billing 4 stars. Insurance help 4 stars. Doctor's Chair-side manners 4. There are two Dr. Edwards in the Katy area. This is Dr. Gordon Edwards. In August of 2007, my first (and last) trip to Dr. Edwards' seemed competent, pleasant, and efficient. He x-rayed, examined, and counseled me in a regular check-up. But his judgment in choice of a hygienist, however, was terrible. The hygienist was so timid and poor, that she would hardly touch each tooth (which felt the same after the cleaning) and also didn't suction out irritating debris from my throat during the procedure. I lost two nights sleep with the consequent sore throat and cough and still had palpable plaque on my teeth. I purchased dental tools from Wal-mart to clean my own teeth. I don't feel comfortable continuing with a dentist who doesn't have the foresight to choose and monitor a competent hygienist. When I mentioned this to the billing assistant, she merely said, "Oh, yes, several have mentioned that." But of course, I was stuck with my poor result since no action had been previously taken to correct something of which they were aware. -- N. of Nottingham Country

Dr. Edwards has been my dentist for 19 years. He has always made me feel very comfortable and has never caused me any pain. He is very helpful in billing situations and most importantly won't tell you that you absolutely need a proceeder that isn't needed.
