Dr. Nield runs his office and treats his patients the way it should be done. No over-hyped atmosphere with expensive fees; a simple, clean, professional office staffed by friendly people. For example, Dr. Nield saves time in his schedule every day for emergency walk-ins, so there is never an extended wait to see him. I have used other, good, dentists in San Antonio but Dr. Nield is fair and you never have reason to question his cost estimates...they are always explained in detail. Twice I have been in conversations with dentists at events in San Antonio and when they asked who I saw - and I mentioned Don Nield, they replied, "He taught me in dental school. That guy is really top-notch!." The office ambience is low key, the amount of attention you receive is almost embarrassing and you find that you do not dread your future appointments and check-ups. And, best of all, the procedures are fast, done correctly and relatively pain-free. I have never needed pain medication after leaving his office. The costs for this quality of service are ridiculously low. Good office, nice and very professional dentist, easy to use. I recommend him to everyone and my whole family uses him.
About Front Desk: They smile when you come in, they remember your name. They file your insurance and strive to have all procedures covered, then offer to work out payment options if needed. If you arrive early for an appointment you will most probably get in early - no wait. They accommodate YOUR schedule when making appointments.
About Hygienist: Very, very good. Excellent cleaning without excess pain or drama. Nice lady.

Came in to extract painful molar but doctor insisted on saving a tooth and proposed expensive bridge work. Left the office with a painful tooth because the doctor did not do anything except look at the x rays and trying to convience me to spend the money Idid not have. Still in pain. Do not recommend if you want the dentist to respect your needs.

About Hygienist: Friendly. I came for a specific service and not to make friends. Three painful nights and a dentist who refuses to extract a problematic tooth.
