Dr. Rick Yamada's dental expertise and level of skill is the best available. Each of my dental implants have been done by him, with one including removing removal of some of my jaw bone for use at opposite side.For all of my procedures I chose local anesthetic and had small amount of discomfort, great healing. His staff is great. I have been going to him for 16 years.

A best dental surgeon!!! I had three wisdom teeth, including one partially impacted, extracted by Dr. Yamada, it was an amazingly easy experience. He was very efficient, before I realizing it, the teeth were out. The whole process took less than 30 minutes. He made it as pain-free as possible. I believe, for local anesthesia, he administered topical anesthetics before injections to the gum. The most comforting aspect was that Dr. Yamada kept communicating with, encouraging, and closely monitoring me throughout the procedure. I had an early morning appointment. When finished, as walking out of the office to the parking lot, I felt completely comfortable as if nothing had happened. So instead of driving home to rest, I drove straight to work and stayed at work the whole day. As till bed time, the pain didnt come I was surprised - because with my previous wisdom tooth extraction by another dentist ten years ago, I experienced severe pain 3 hours later. On top of all his good qualities, his care for me didnt stop with the extractions. Since then, he has always given me prompt help and advice whenever needed. A great doctor!!! If you need a dental surgeon in the La Jolla San Diego area, dont miss him-I hope youll be as satisfied.

Dr. Yamada has an excellent "bedside manner" and is very good at easing the patient, explaining what he is going to do and monitoring the patient during the procedure. His office staff is as professional and caring as the doctor. Highly recommended.

i had a very pleasant experience in the office of dr. yamada. He made me feel right at home and helped me to understand why i needed to get my wisdom teeth pulled and explained in detail to me the procedure and what i needed to do to prepare for it and gave me the prescriptions that i needed for after the service. Overall, he was very helpful.

Dr. Yamada was referred to me by my dentist for the removal of all of my wisdom teeth. In my required initial consultation, I found Dr. Yamada to be a good listener, warm and professional. He asked why my dentist wanted my wisdom teeth removed. He, then, explained to me his recommendation (removal of three teeth and monitoring the growth of the last one) and various risks associated with the surgery. He gave me paperwork explaining how to minimize post-op pain and swelling and a prescription for Vicodin that could be filled in advance of the surgery. Afterwards, I felt very confident that he was the right oral surgeon for me.
The day of the surgery, while waiting in the operating room, his assistant explained to me what to expect after the surgery and answered any questions. During the surgery, Dr. Yamada told me what he was doing, made sure that I wasn't feeling pain and told me how the surgery was going. The procedure itself was quick. He asked me to return in two weeks to ensure that the removal sites were healing properly.
I took 400 mg. of Ibuprofen 1 1/2 hours prior to the surgery and a total of 1600 mg. of it that day and none thereafter. I even went shopping six hours after the surgery.

Dr. Rick Yamada has my highest recommendations for oral surgery. His office is conveniently located near La Jolla Village Drive behind El Torito. He removed my daughter's third molars and made the whole procedure as simple and stress free as possible. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the cost was very affordable.

I'm terrified of dentist, let alone surgeons....but Dr. Yamada told me if I follow his directions, I'd be ok within days.

I just had a wisdom tooth extracted by Dr Yamada. It was quick and painless. His staff was very friendly and professional too. I highly recommend him!!

Dr. Yamada did an amazing job. I was so frightened of getting my wisdom teeth removed, but he was so kind and helpful. I had two of my teeth impacted and have heard horror stories about recovery for patients with impacted teeth. My recovery was quick and nearly painless. I feel that Dr. Yamada is a very skilled Oral Surgeon.
