Dr. Yamada was referred to me by my dentist for the removal of all of my wisdom teeth. In my required initial consultation, I found Dr. Yamada to be a good listener, warm and professional. He asked why my dentist wanted my wisdom teeth removed. He, then, explained to me his recommendation (removal of three teeth and monitoring the growth of the last one) and various risks associated with the surgery. He gave me paperwork explaining how to minimize post-op pain and swelling and a prescription for Vicodin that could be filled in advance of the surgery. Afterwards, I felt very confident that he was the right oral surgeon for me.
The day of the surgery, while waiting in the operating room, his assistant explained to me what to expect after the surgery and answered any questions. During the surgery, Dr. Yamada told me what he was doing, made sure that I wasn't feeling pain and told me how the surgery was going. The procedure itself was quick. He asked me to return in two weeks to ensure that the removal sites were healing properly.
I took 400 mg. of Ibuprofen 1 1/2 hours prior to the surgery and a total of 1600 mg. of it that day and none thereafter. I even went shopping six hours after the surgery.
