I was referred to this office by a mutual friend once I relocated to the Katy area. My first visit was comfortable and more less a success. The dentist I used was very gentle and was very likable. Unfortunately before my next visit she had left and I was given to another dentist. She seemed knowledgeable, but a bit rough and not personable. I had the office perform the "Zoom" treatment which was unsuccessful, due to the hygienists lack of knowledge. At times it felt as if this was her first try with the machine. I am okay with someone learning how to do a procedure, but when I am paying over 300 dollars for this procedure, I expect quality. I did in-fact continue going to Dr.Mellards office, as it was so close to work and my home. Over the two years I have seen 3 different dentists, as my favourite dentist quit along with many of her staff. I believe I have only seen one Hygienist that has been there the duration of my visits.
In the end I would not recommend this office. I have very good dental insurance, but it seemed like every time I went, I had a hefty bill that insurance would not cover. It wasnt until I changed to a new dentist that I realized many of these charges were not always needed.
