I was interested in getting Veneers and after some research decided to visit Dr. Vakay for a consultation. Both Dr. Vakay and her staff were very friendly, informative and competent. I decided to go ahead and pay for an initial mold of the 4 front teeth I was interested in getting veneers for. I was interested in scheduling another visit to get the veneers but at the time I couldn't afford the price. After waiting about a year, around September 2010 I came back to go forward with the procedure. To my surprise, I was told that Dr. Vakay no longer practiced there and that the new Dentist was Dr. Ana Arango. In the end it all worked out. While still expensive, my discount request was granted which allowed the procedure to go forward. The cosmetic procedure was done well and I was happy with the results.
Since then I've also visited to for regular cleaning and exam. The problem is the unreasonably high price. I was charged $195 for a regular cleaning and a brief visit by the dentist August 2011. Given I don't have dental insurance, this is problem for me. I've had to refuse dental x-rays because I simply can't afford them.
