This makes it possible for the tooth to be loosened with a dental tool called an "elevator", and removed with a "forceps". Typically called a "closed extraction," a "simple extraction," or an "elevator and forceps extraction." No surgical access flap is required, and the tooth is not sectioned into pieces to remove it.
