Don't go there, any service industry is only as good as the way clients are treated and today i was mistreated by the hygenist and the doctor. After going to this practice for years and thinking they were great in service and respect to patients time, today I was treated very poorly by a higienyst who was 25 minutes late. She didnt apologize, responded with a smirk and kept taking a long time to start. I decided to leave and asked for her name, she was rude again and would not give me her name even when asked several times. I expected Dr. Barr would respond positively by talking to her and apologizing to me for her lateness and bad atitude, but he never even asked me what had happened and was rude himself when we spoke on the phone.

Doctor Barr has great bedside manner and makes you feel at ease with various dental work. He did several fillings for me, and they've all been great.

Hygienist was very rough, had no personality and merely acted like she was cleaning gutters or shoveling animal dung in a barn. Barr is decent, though nothing special and I would tell any friend to look up another dentist or find another recommendation.

I went to Dr. Barr for an initial visit and cleaning, followed by 2 fillings. On the second filling, I had a poor reaction to the anaesthesia. After 22 days, I still have no feeling in half of my tongue. While I have spoken to him over the phone, he has had little regard for the fact that I cannot eat anything hard (like bread) or anything hot. He keeps on insisting that this reaction is normal, and he has done everything he could do. I am very dissatisfied with his follow up care and his disregard for how I feel. He has been extremely paternalistic, noting that I should be happy that the feeling will be back in 6 months. While his original services were acceptable, his follow up care has been terrible. I will not be returning and will not recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Barr has been our dentist in one of the most prestigious areas in the country, Hilton Head Island,S.C.His gentle manner while working on our teeth,was the best dentist that we have ever had.His work speaks for itself,fillings that last a lifetime.We truely love DR. BARR,and hope that you will enjoy his expertice in a feild that he truely loves. With All Of Our Devoted Love, Elliot And Geri Riebman, Hilton Head Island,S.C.

The doctor is okay but has little to no patience. He was working on a crown for me and I told him 3 times that part of the metal instrument was burning the side of my lips. He ignored my complaints and finish the procedure. I had huge blisters for 3 days!! He did not even call me to check up on me, I had to call and request to see him. When I went in he admitted that the instrument he used had over heated and that is why my lips were burned but did not apologize. I am definitely not going back. On top of that when I tried to change doctors his staff made it extremely troublesome for me to get a copy of my x-rays and file. I sent a written letter with the request and was told that the Dr. had to approve my request (does not make any sense to make that he has to approve the request because the file I am requesting is mine and my insurance paid for my x-rays) and that it takes days to make copies because they are busy with other patients. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

great Dr, horrible receptionist. Told the secretary weeks in advance about my new insurance to make sure it would cover my cleaning. Before the appt, said it was covered, then after the appt, explained it actually wasn't, and I (an unemployed student) needed to pay close to $200 today. Did not offer any payment plans, nor did she apologize! After 2 yrs with Dr. Barr - a great dr - , I decided it wasn't worth dealing with someone like her at the desk.

Dr. Barr is very good at what he does. He is also quick and pleasant.
