I suppose the reason I have continued to go to Dr. Neu is because above all, his patient's wellbeing is most important.. He is sensitive to a patient's fears. Once when I had to have a root canal and was fearful of the noise and not being able to speak or communicate my fears, Dr Neu provided soft music in a set of earphones which deafened the drill's noice and a rubber ducky squeaky toy that I could squeak when I wanted to catch his attention and stop drilling for a moment so I could gather up more courage to go on. My anxiety has turned to trust over these years but sometimes I still need that squeaky toy. BTW, his jokes are lame but I try to laugh anyway!
