She is terrible! She scheduled me for oral surgery when I had severe tooth ache for two weeks later and moved this date for a further date due to her conference. The pain was very severe and I could not wait that long. My physician had to start me on Demerol for pain control and too get my blood pressure back down, it was 173/100 due to the pain. I was also using 2% Xylocaine Gel that was being placed directly on the teeth with the nerves exposed. The top of the teeth broke off and had formed a abscess with part of the root of the tooth exposed as the gum line was pushed down. The xylocaine barely helped the pain at the tooth sites. My doctor also had to place me on large doses of Penicillin to keep the infection from traveling to my heart. I scheduled with her office to have the two painful teeth extracted now and the others could wait until the surgery date two weeks later. My daughter took off work to drive me to her office. She came in knowing which teeth were causing unbearable pain. Dr.CantuThompson looked at me and asked me if I could wait two more weeks until my surgery date! I told her NO! She did nothing and I had my extractions done that day by another dentist no problem. She is terrible! ^$ also. Don't use her!

About Hygienist: The staff were o.k. and the office clean. It was the dentist who was awful and worthless in handling my dental condition. You could tell that Dr. Cantu-Thompson lacked her own skills and competency in handling my dental condition. She told me that I was going to be in a lot more pain after and I need IV sedation and kept asking me to wait 2 more weeks! I am a professional nurse of 27 years and I have never ever seen a doctor treat a patient the way I was treated. I walked out! The new dentist I located that day had both teeth pulled out no trouble with in 2 hours after I left Dr. Cantu-Thompson's office. I felt no pain during or after the extractions and there was minimal bleeding. The next day I was doing GREAT! My new doctor also offered more current options for me other than partial dentures that Dr. Cantu-Thompson never brought to my attention. Also I lived by Dr. Cantu-Thompson Babcock Rd. Office and when she kept scheduling my surgery she wanted me to drive way across town to her south-side office for the surgery which was a big inconceivable and the reason why I chise the location nearer my home. Then the staff made my appointments and scheduled the surgery with out even hecking with me when I had other appts made and could not drive to the southside location. They took it upon themselves to book the Anesthesiologist who had to be cancelled because the dates were not convient for me. Dr. Cantu-Thompson had to bring the cancellations to my attention when it wasn't even my fault! The entire time my tooth ache was getting worse. I was given an estimated total of $8,887.00 to extract x9 teeth and fit me for upper & lower back partials and a fee for IV sedation for 1.5 hours for the anesthesiologist. This was a terrible experience! I do not recommend her and advise you too seek professional dentistry else where! 06/09/2011.
